Data
How we manage your survey data.
As soon as surveys are completed, the data appears in the school’s reporting portal. This data is accessible to the school in the reporting portal as pre-filled and interactive reports. To create a report at least nine responses are needed.
Data breakdown.
The reports summarise the survey data and are grouped and organised into eight focus areas or factors.
Implementing action from the data.
With the survey data combined within cohorts and reviewed by WiLDlab within the University of Adelaide schools participate in a 90-minute online Student Wellbeing Action Plan or SWAP meeting.
Schools nominate when they would like to meet with the WiLDlab to review the survey findings. The SWAP meeting is the second stage of the Living Ripples process. Every year while on the program, schools complete one SWAP meeting each year and later, in Stage 4, a SWAP Review meeting.
During the SWAP schools are guided with a facilitator to become more familiar with the survey data. Schools are guided about the survey Focus Areas, Key Drivers and Actions so they have the skills and experience to review and assess the data on an ongoing and regular basis.
Together the school team and the WiLDlab facilitator create the beginning of an Action Plan from the data having jointly identified priority areas from the data, often already familiar to the school.
For more on analysing the data and linking the survey questions to the Focus Areas, see our guide.
Planning and supporting student wellbeing.
As part of the Action Plan process led by the school, urgent needs or specific preparatory steps to better support student wellbeing can sometimes be required. While these might be planned by the school and fully funded, sometimes extras emerge. Aware of this, Living Ripples has created the SWAG, a helping hand to support student wellbeing.
Following the 90-minute SWAP meeting, schools will:
Review mental health report
Examine the school’s Mental Health Report for insights on norms, gender or year level differences, and identify high or low scores to determine possible Focus Areas.
Utilize GEM Finder Tool
Use the GEM Finder Tool to prioritise Focus Areas and identify Key Drivers that will guide the development of effective mental health strategies.
Discuss action responses
Engage in discussions regarding potential responses to the Actions that the school can implement, ensuring collaborative input from the team.
Complete draft Action Plan
Finalise the draft Action Plan created during the online session and develop any additional Action Plans, accessible through the school’s online reporting portal.
Teacher Audit.
With the school action plans in place, nearing the six-month review, a quick online check-in survey with a select number of nominated teachers is done. This provides additional material for the Action Plan Review process.
Action Plan Review.
Within six months of the SWAP being developed, the school meets again with WiLDlab facilitators to review progress, refine next steps and prepare for the following school year.
At every stage, schools can access practical resources to assist their locally led implementation.
