The Flourish Movement Program for School Leaders
A flourishing leader is the cornerstone of a thriving educational community. The Flourish Movement is an evidence-based program that builds sustainable and effective leadership practices. It does this by enhancing leadership capabilities and prioritising personal wellbeing, enabling an optimal balance between professional excellence and personal satisfaction. Flourish results are independently measured by Deakin University and are available here.
Flourish for Schools Program for School Staff
All school leaders want their school staff to flourish alongside them. Flourish for Schools is a comprehensive online program tailored for your entire school staff, drawing on the insights and principles of The Flourish Movement. It customises wellbeing strategies to meet the unique needs of both teaching and administrative teams, ensuring that every staff member is supported in their role. The program focuses on building resilience, reducing burnout, and fostering a positive, collaborative school culture.
Why
Investing in the wellbeing of school leaders and staff is essential. Research shows that burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress are increasing challenges for educators. Without proper support and effective self-care training, both leaders and staff can struggle to maintain their mental and physical health, which can lead to higher turnover rates. A focus on wellbeing builds a stronger, more supportive team, leading to better student outcomes and a healthier school culture. Post-program, participants report a decrease of 19.2% in stress levels and an increase of 9.1% in job satisfaction.
How
Over a staged and stepped implementation, around 15 months, participants are guided through the following two phases.
Phase 1: Research
The Flourish Movement: School leaders complete a survey and diary study, followed by one-on-one interviews to review personal results. The goal is to help participants understand and identify key changes needed to improve their wellbeing, performance, productivity, and efficiency.
Flourish for Schools: School staff undertake a pre and post program survey (by Deakin University), with a report being provided to the school principal.
Phase 2: Content
The Flourish Movement: School leaders participate in four full-day workshops (one per term) with a Flourish facilitator offering the latest research and strategies on school leader wellbeing and performance. You will collaborate with other school leaders, expanding your professional network, while receiving ongoing support from the Flourish team through regular communications and resources.
