Clontarf Foundation

What

The Clontarf Foundation works within schools supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys and young men during their secondary years. The goal of the Foundation’s in-school Academies is for all First Nations boys and men to feel supported, capable and confident in all areas of their lives. How this is done is through a comprehensive in-school program delivered throughout the year. Students receive academic support and guidance, participate in health, wellbeing and resilience programs and develop their leadership skills. The Clontaft Foundation operates 148 academies in WA, NT, QLD, NSW, VIC and SA with over 11,500 students involved.

Why

Because Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and boys face significant barriers in education which the Clontarf Foundation seeks to combat by working alongside the boys and men with the school including improving Year 12 retention.
