What
The Man Cave’s Student Workshops are a series of three whole-day immersive experiences to encourage young men to explore the concept of masculinity, the social expectations of men and how to build healthy principles of masculinity for Stage 5 and 6 students.
Why
The program recognises that expectations of masculinity are often outmoded. It also believes that long-term, positive shifts can occur by creating a safe space, challenging problematic gender stereotypes and learning the critical and emotional skills to equip them for their future lives.
How
The Man Cave program is in three parts. The first is on self-discovery, expansion of emotional literacy and mental health. The second workshop has a focus on cultivating relationships with others and sharing their strengths and their stories. The final workshop challenges participants to define their values and the part they intend to play in their communities.
Who
For years 9 to 12 secondary school students.
When & Where
Delivered in NSW and Victorian schools by experienced male facilitators over three days.
