Deadly Minds Matter

What

Deadly Minds Matter is a school-based health, wellbeing and sport program of Shooting Stars and Glass Jar Australia. The program is delivered predominantly by Aboriginal women as role models and mentors for girls and young women. The program helps tackle challenges identified by participants through yarning to help them reach their potential and through netball, increase their participation in sport.

Why

This culturally responsive program has been developed to help young Aboriginal girls and women connect with the seven spheres of life: culture, land, physical self, mental self, community, family-kinship, ancestors-spirituality. The program was developed to address the impacts of negative relationships, including experiences of bullying and challenges with emotional regulation.
