What
Dolly’s Dream seeks to combat bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide. Established by Dolly’s parents, Kate and Tick Everett, following their 14-year-old daughter’s suicide after ongoing bullying, they are determined to support other young people, their families and communities to bring about change. One way they do this is through education and in-school programs.
Why
Dolly’s Dream runs online safety and anti-bullying workshops for students of all ages. Workshops are tailored to the school’s specific requirements and are interactive and engaging. Delivery is by one of Dolly’s Dream mental health first aid trained facilitators. Programs include ‘Be a Digital Defender!’ for younger students, Years 1 and 2 students through to ‘Digital dramas – take control!’ for middle and senior secondary students, Years 9 – 11.
