The 7 Habits of Wellbeing-Wise Families is a practical, science-informed parent and carer education program designed to strengthen the school–home partnership. Built on The Wellbeing Distillery’s ALIVE Framework – a model backed by two decades of research in wellbeing, psychology and education – the program gives families access to the same evidence-informed principles teachers use at school, with the goal of helping families become calmer, more confident and more connected.
Designed for families with children in Grades 4–9 (ages 10–15), the program explores seven practical habits: Stay Calm in the Chaos, Communicate with Empathy, Set Boundaries with Heart, Support Healthy Routines, Spot & Grow Strengths, Talk About Mental Health, and Build Your Village. Each habit strengthens key components of wellbeing science and includes a short engaging video, practical tools and conversation prompts parents can use the same week.
Delivered as a blended, year-long learning experience, the program combines seven 15-minute on-demand videos (with 12-month parent access), seven 90-minute school-hosted discussion sessions facilitated by the school’s wellbeing staff, and a co-branded printed Family Playbook with reflection prompts, habit trackers and conversation guides for home. Habits are released in stages approximately every five weeks to support reflection, practice and meaningful behaviour change. Pre- and post-program surveys with an Impact Report are included to demonstrate outcomes.
